Great Steel Strapping Options From Allstrap

Allstrap Steel & Poly Strapping Systems has been a leader of all kinds of steel strapping systems for a long time. They have made a name for themselves for providing the design and development of protective packaging systems for products that travel by air, rail, road and sea.

They also have a wide range of application equipment, accessories, seals, hand tools, power strapping machines and dispensers. Among these products is the Magnus and Apex Plus steel strapping. The Apex Plus is a cold-rolled, medium carbon steel strapping that is bound to produce higher break strength at a thinner gauge than regular steel strapping.

The Apex Plus is also a better substitute for the heavy gauge regular steel strapping especially for light to medium duty applications. This also proves to be very cost-effective and saves a lot on shipping costs. This is one of the reasons that the Apex Plus is a favorite in industries.

The other commonly used strapping from Allstrap is the Manus. This is a cold rolled and heat treated style of steel strapping. It is a medium carbon steel strapping and is of high tensile strength. This has a very good shock resistance for heavy duty applications. This is most commonly used in the steel strapping industry. This 1.25” strapping is ribbon wound and the coil weighs about 105 lbs. This strapping is edged (deburred), painted black and waxed. This strapping is high tensile and has been approved for railroads.

The Magnus has a break strength of about 5,450 lbs. and is perfect for using with hand tools, pneumatic tools and automatic equipment. There are 7.6 feet per pound of steel strapping.  Most of the American made steel strapping is heat treated and is commonly preferred for use in the heavy industries. The standard size of steel strapping is ¼”x.031” and has an elongation of 6.5%. It also meets the ASTM specifications.

Another option for steel strapping is the Punched Steel Strapping. This 1¼” x.031” punched steel strapping comes with 20-24 coils per skid. The alternating side is punched with the same size hole. Another way is that the center is punched and has a large/small hole in order to use with a screw/nail.

The punched steel strapping is mostly used in construction. It is used as a brace for concrete forms, support for framing, hurricane tie downs and insulation. However, one has to follow the guidelines provided in order to use the punched steel strapping.
